Namibian Experiences Establishing Community Fish Reserves

Inland fisheries play a critical role in the ecology of Okavango Delta, but their conservation is particularly complex. For nearly decade, communities, conservancies, policy makers, and partner organisations have worked to establish fish reserves across Kavango Zambezi. Guidelines on establishment been developed delineate process through which these protected areas are established, structured learning has unpacked knowledge held by different stakeholders better understand opportunities limitations subsequently revise guidelines.
